Survey Launch! How is the new #FairFares Program Working for New Yorkers?
After two years of organizing, we won our campaign for Mayor de Blasio to provide #FairFares: half-fare MetroCards for New Yorkers living at or below the federal poverty line (FPL). The program is being rolled out over time and is expected to be fully available to all New Yorkers at or below the FPL . After launching the first phase (available to employed New Yorkers in Cash or SNAP assistance program) in January of 2019 more than 69,000 New Yorkers have signed up!
As the city prepares to grow the program to the next phase (with full rollout expected in January 2020), the Riders Alliance is announcing the launch of a new online survey to evaluate the new program.
Join us to spread the word about our survey where we ask New Yorkers how the #FairFares program working for those who need it? We're asking all New Yorkers who use the program -- and those who are excited about its future-- to weigh in!
